Food Delivery in Mauritius: Best Apps, Fees & Coverage Area

Food delivery is widely available in Mauritius, but there is no single app that works best everywhere. Local platforms such as HungryDodo, Delivery Dodo, OrderManzer and Delivoo serve different restaurants and areas, while Grubmates offers a WhatsApp-based service around parts of the west and north coasts.

Coverage is generally easiest in larger towns and populated areas such as Port Louis, Rose Hill, Quatre Bornes, Vacoas, Curepipe, Ebène and parts of the north and west. If you are staying in a smaller village or remote coastal area, your choice can be much more limited.

The most useful approach is simple: enter your exact delivery address before choosing an app. Restaurant availability, delivery fees and payment options can change depending on where you are, so an app that works well in Rose Hill may be far less useful in Tamarin or Grand Baie.

Which Food Delivery App Should You Use?

HungryDodo

HungryDodo is one of the established local food-ordering platforms and works through its website and mobile app. You enter your address, see the restaurants available around you and order directly through the platform.

I would treat HungryDodo as one of the first services to check rather than promising that it covers a particular town. The restaurant selection is highly dependent on your current delivery address and time of day, so entering your location gives you a much more accurate answer than a static coverage map.

Delivery Dodo

Delivery Dodo is another long-running Mauritian restaurant-delivery platform with both an app and website. It remains particularly relevant because McDonald’s Mauritius officially lists Delivery Dodo as one of its McDelivery partners.

Like HungryDodo, the important question is not simply whether Delivery Dodo operates in your town but whether restaurants currently deliver to your specific address. Add your location first and compare the selection with the other apps before ordering.

OrderManzer

OrderManzer currently has one of the more useful restaurant directories to browse online, with restaurants listed across areas including Port Louis, Phoenix, Rose Hill, Quatre Bornes, Flacq and other parts of Mauritius.

Many current restaurant listings show a Rs150 delivery fee, although this should not be treated as a universal fixed price. The final fee depends on the restaurant and delivery setup.

OrderManzer also officially states that customers can pay online or use cash on delivery, which makes it worth checking if you do not want to rely exclusively on online payment.

Delivoo

Delivoo has expanded beyond restaurant delivery into groceries, fresh produce, flowers, pet products and other everyday items. Its current website says it works with more than 60 restaurant partners and over 100 local merchants.

The platform is particularly active through the central urban corridor and has also been expanding into areas such as Flic en Flac and Cascavelle. Some individual merchants operate within approximately 5km delivery zones, so coverage still depends on exactly where you are.

Current promotions advertise either free delivery or Rs99 delivery on various orders. Delivoo currently says it does not accept cash; payment can be made online or using supported digital payment methods.

The platform currently operates Monday to Saturday from approximately 10:30am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.

Grubmates

Grubmates works differently from the normal delivery apps. There is no need to browse a traditional restaurant marketplace. Instead, you message the service through WhatsApp, tell them what you want and where you are, and a courier arranges the purchase and delivery.

Its current published coverage includes Flic en Flac, Bambous, Cascavelle, Tamarin, Black River, Grand Baie, Pereybere, Mont Choisy, Cap Malheureux and Trou aux Biches.

This flexibility comes at a higher price. Grubmates currently charges Rs300 for orders below Rs1,000, Rs400 for orders below Rs2,000 and Rs500 for orders below Rs3,000, with additional charges for certain locations and requests.

Payment options currently include cash, Juice and PayPal.

For somebody staying in a villa or apartment on the west or north coast and wanting something from a restaurant that does not normally deliver, that higher fee may still be worthwhile.

What About Simply Good Food?

Simply Good Food is another Mauritian restaurant ordering and delivery platform and supports immediate and scheduled deliveries. Its published payment options include cards, mobile payments and cash on delivery, although the options can vary by restaurant and location.

However, at the time of this September 2026 update, the company’s website is displaying a temporary service issue. I would therefore check its current availability rather than making it your only planned delivery option.

Ordering Directly from McDonald’s, KFC and Nando’s

You do not always need to start with an aggregator. Several major restaurant chains have their own online ordering systems or official delivery arrangements.

McDonald’s Mauritius currently uses Delivery Dodo, Delivoo and OrderManzer for McDelivery. Which service you use depends on your location. McDonald’s currently also promotes free delivery through Delivoo and OrderManzer on eligible orders, although promotions can change.

KFC Mauritius has its own online ordering platform, accessible through the official KFC website, as well as ordering through WhatsApp in some contexts. If KFC is all you want, going directly to the chain may be easier than checking every delivery marketplace.

Nando’s Mauritius also supports direct online ordering through its website, with availability based on the nearest restaurant.

How Much Does Food Delivery Cost?

There is no useful island-wide “standard delivery fee” in Mauritius. The current market ranges from promotional free delivery and approximately Rs99 on Delivoo, to around Rs150 on many OrderManzer restaurant listings, and Rs300 or more for the more personalised Grubmates courier service.

The fee should therefore be considered part of the comparison when you order. A restaurant may appear on more than one platform with a different delivery fee, promotion or minimum spend.

Some platforms also apply minimum orders or other service charges. Always check the final checkout total, not just the menu price, before confirming your order.

Where Is Food Delivery Easiest?

The central urban corridor generally gives you the most options. Areas around Port Louis, Ebène, Beau Bassin, Rose Hill, Quatre Bornes, Phoenix, Vacoas and Curepipe have large concentrations of restaurants and relatively short delivery distances.

The north also has good options around Grand Baie and Pereybere, while the west coast around Flic en Flac, Cascavelle, Tamarin and Black River is served by a mixture of the larger platforms and Grubmates.

Coverage becomes less predictable in smaller villages, the more rural south and parts of the east. You may still find delivery, but it is more likely to come directly from a nearby restaurant or smaller local courier rather than through every major app.

This is why I would avoid choosing an accommodation based simply on an app claiming to cover “Mauritius”. The only meaningful test is to enter the property’s exact address and see what restaurants appear.

Tips for Visitors Ordering Food in Mauritius

If you are staying at a hotel, apartment or villa, make sure the delivery address is easy for the rider to find. Mauritius has plenty of small roads and properties where a normal street address is not enough, so adding a Google Maps pin, landmark, apartment name or gate instructions can save a long phone conversation.

A Mauritian phone number is also useful because riders may call or message when they are nearby. If you are using an international SIM or travel eSIM, check that you can receive calls or provide WhatsApp instructions instead.

Keep more than one platform available. One app may show fifteen restaurants at your address while another shows three, and availability can change during peak dinner periods.

Which Food Delivery Service Is Best?

There is no single best delivery app for the whole island. HungryDodo and Delivery Dodo are useful general platforms to check, OrderManzer has a broad current restaurant directory, and Delivoo is particularly useful if you also want groceries or other products. Grubmates is different but can be valuable on the west and north coasts when you want a courier to collect something outside the normal app system.

For most people, the best strategy is to bookmark two or three services, enter your address and compare the restaurant selection and final delivery fee. Mauritius’ delivery market is fragmented enough that relying on one app will unnecessarily limit your choices.
